Chugiak skates to tie, Dimond posts a shutout in prep hockey

Chugiak and Wasilla skated to a 3-3 overtime tie and Dimond shut out Eagle River 3-0 in a pair of high school hockey games Saturday.

Chugiak's Luke Momblow scored the game-tying goal with two minutes left in the game at the McDonald Center.

His strike was the third in an 88-second span near the end of the game.

Wasilla led 2-1 coming into the third period and maintained that lead until Chugiak's Jacob Kosinski tied the game with 3:33 to play.

The Warriors took a 3-2 lead with 2:48 to go on a goal by Holden Wiltfong, and Momblow answered with an unassisted goal at 2:05.

Wasilla outshot Chugiak 7-1 in overtime but couldn't get the puck past goalie Tanner Holta, who finished with 21 saves.

At Ben Boeke Ice Arena, three players provided first-period goals for Dimond – Blake Hausinger, Sean Carey and Drake Reid.

Goaltender Ryan Gray led Eagle River with 33 saves.
