Prep hockey: Wins for Dimond, East

Dimond 3, Eagle River 2

Dimond scored twice in the second period and held off Eagle River in the third period for a 3-2 hockey victory in a Cook Inlet Conference game Thursday at the McDonald Center.

Dimond's Blake Hausinger scored in the first period and the Lynx added second-period goals from Tyler Graeber and Teague Porter.

Eagle River received goals from Nat Nielsen in the first and Ty McEnaney in the third.

Eagle River goalie Chandler Annis recorded 35 saves and Dimond goalie Max Hickel racked up 18 saves.

East 6, North Pole 4

Nicholas Eddens contributed in all six of East's goals in the T-birds' 6-4 hockey win over North Pole.

Eddens registered four goals — including three in the second period — and two assists to carry East in the nonconference game at Ben Boeke Arena. Taylor Caccarelli added two assists and a goal for the T-birds.

North Pole rallied to tie the game at 4-4 with three goals in the third period, but a Caccarelli goal put East up for good with six minutes to go.

Orin Peters paced the Patriots with a goal and an assist.
