Colony's Larson headed to Regis University

Star athlete and scholar, Kara Larson of Colony High plans to sign a letter of intent today to play basketball at Division II Regis University of Denver.

Named the Northern Lights Conference most valuable player in 2008, Larson also won the sportsmanship award at the state tournament that year. She was an all-state honorable mention player the last two years.

The 5-foot-10 Larson will joined a Regis team that went 14-14 last season, 11-8 in conference.

A four-year starter in basketball and soccer at Colony, Larson also played two years of volleyball.

After maintaining nearly a 4.0 grade-point average at Colony, she intends to major in biochemistry.
