Bingham will be one of two assistants to help head coach Barbara Nelson (Wingate University) assemble a team to play in the inaugural FIBA Americas U-16 Championship next month.
Bingham will report for her third coaching stint with USA Basketball on May 28 to help conduct team tryouts at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.
"It'll make for a short summer," said Bingham, a teacher at Wendler Middle School. "But it'll be a great opportunity. This team will have the top 16-year-olds in the country."
After the FIBA Americas U-16 Championship, Bingham will go back to coaching Alaskan girls who play on her elite summer travel team.
A year ago, Bingham ended her 14-year high school coaching career at East, where she compiled the most career wins as a girls coach in Alaska, according to Anchorage sports historian Don Winchester.
She finished 359-93 all-time and led East to three Class 4A state titles and 10 state tournament appearances.
