West boys lose to nation's No. 31 in 2 OT

The West boys lost in double overtime to the nation's No. 31 high school team, Plano West (Texas), at the Whataburger Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas, on Wednesday.

The 98-97 loss came after the Eagles fought back after ending the third quarter with a 10-point deficit.

In the first overtime, which ended 90-90, four West players fouled out.

"Each game we play is a steppingstone," said West coach Chuck White. "This was a bitter steppingstone for us."

Wednesday marked the third straight day that Devon Bookert scored a team-high 21 points.

Mike Russell posted 19 while Tom Feeney and Justin Kaufmann each added 15.

Klie honored in Arizona

Service's Nate Klie was named to the all-tournament team at the Cactus Jam Basketball Tournament in Phoenix, Ariz. on Tuesday.

The Cougars ended the tournament on Tuesday with a 51-46 loss to Belmont High (Canada).
