Rhea nearly triple-doubles

Juneau-Douglas' two-time state player of the year Talisa Rhea came up one rebound shy of a triple-double Friday in the Crimson Bears' 54-33 win over Service in Juneau.

Rhea's stat line: 26 points, 10 assists, nine rebounds, three steals, two blocked shots. The senior bound for Oregon State scored 13 consecutive points in the first quarter for the fourth-ranked Crimson Bears (11-3 overall).

Sylvia Bullock had a team-high 14 points and Stephanie Eldred added eight points and five boards for Service (4-4).

Malauri King hit the game-winning shot with 10 seconds to go to lift Bartlett over Lathrop. King finished with seven points, seven rebounds and a steal. Jade Pardillo had 12 rebounds to go along with four points, four steals and two blocks.

Eliza Chadwick poured in 20 points to complement Becca Carlson's 16 and lift Class 3A second-ranked Nikiski over top-ranked Anchorage Christian Schools at Nikiski. Anna Simmers led ACS with a game-high 22 points.

Soldotna 50, Palmer 47

Soldotna's Paige Blackburn scored 24 points -- nearly half her team's total -- to help Soldotna edge host Palmer 50-47.

Colony 52, Kenai 23

Allie Grazulis netted 18 points in Colony's home victory over Kenai.

Colony outscored Kenai 11-3 and 19-8 in the first two quarters.

Lumen 62, Nikolaevsk 45

Sisters Kelly and Kara McNeal combined for 26 points and Krystal Suemai added 18 points and led visiting Lumen Christi to a Peninsula Conference victory over Nikolaevsk. Lumen moved to 6-1. Efrosia Yakunin led Nikolaevsk with 17 points.

Kelly Seggerman scored 19 points and Brad Blossom added 10 as they helped visiting Soldotna earn a Northern Lights Conference victory over Palmer. Quinton Fiscus collected a game-high 20 points for Palmer, which relinquished a one-point halftime lead and got outscored 14-8 in the third quarter.

Donovan Parker and Bryan Mason combined for 24 points Friday in Houston's win against Seward.

Juneau 56, Dimond 45

Juneau-Douglas upset top-ranked Dimond late Friday in a battle of teams ranked in the state's Top 5. Host Juneau, ranked fourth, improved to 9-3. Dimond fell to 7-2 overall.
