GIRLS BASKETBALL -- South used a strong third-quarter push to regroup from a first-half deficit and earn a Cook Inlet Conference win over visiting Bartlett on Tuesday.

Kelly Gamblin led the Wolverines (10-8 overall, 5-5 CIC), scoring a game-high 15 points. Liza Spano scored 13 points, Alex Brewster added 10 and Molly Mehan had seven assists.

Jade Pardillo's 10 points led the Golden Bears (8-9, 5-5), who are tied with South for fourth place in the conference.

Sylvia Bullock paved the way for Service again, scoring a game-high 28 points and helping the visiting Cougars beat Eagle River.

The Cougars (10-8, 8-2) led by seven after the first quarter and let their defense dictate the final three quarters. Cierra Mickens netted 13 points to lead the Wolves (2-15, 1-9).

The Eagles (1-16, 0-10) finished strong, outscoring Chugiak 10-5 in the final quarter.
