The Kenai River Brown Bears scored five unanswered goals in the third period -- four in the final five minutes -- Wednesday to pull away from the Alaska Avalanche at Menard Memorial Arena.

Kevin Harris, Nick Calma, Jeffrey Harris, Garret Bossert (two goals) and Tony McDonald (two goals, two assists) all scored in the third to break open a tight game and give Kenai its first road win.
Tyler Currier scored shorthanded in the first period, and Jeremiah Dargis tallied in the third for Alaska, which lost its third straight.
The teams meet again Friday and Saturday at Menard Memorial Arena, with both games at 7 p.m.
