After going 0 for 5 in shootouts against the Alaska Avalanche, Jed McGlasson's slick backhand move beat Dusan Sidor as the Kenai River Brown Bears took a second straight game from the Avs 4-3 at Menard Memorial Arena in Wasilla.

McGlasson also scored early in the first period on his backhand, giving Kenai a 2-0 lead. Alex Young scored twice in regulation and once during the shootout for Alaska, which lost its fourth straight.

The game did not start well for Alaska, even though it was awarded the rare power play on the opening face off when Kenai was called for skating over the red line during warm ups. Alaska couldn't cash in the gift. A minute into the game, Brett Englebright skated in to score an unassisted, short-handed goal.

After McGlasson's backhander, Kyle Pichler scored for Alaska to make it 2-1.

Young tied it in the second, blasting a slap shot from just inside the blue line on the power play. But Kenai went ahead again when Jeffrey Harris lifted in his own rebound.

Young tied the game again in the third, chipping in a rebound.

Sidor made 30 saves, while Matt Wichorek stopped 28. Wichorek covered the post to stop Pichler to end the shootout.

The teams meet again tonight at 7 at Menard Memorial Arena.
