UAA forward Carl Arts has been named the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Player of the Week for Feb. 18-24, the league office announced Monday.
Arts, a 6-foot-6 senior, registered 44 points and 11 rebounds in a pair of home wins over Montana State Billings and Seattle University. The Valdez native shot 18 of 26 from the field (69.2 percent), including 3 of 3 on 3-pointers, and made 5 of 6 free throws.
It is the third Player of the Week award this season for Arts, who leads the GNAC with 8.3 rebounds per game and is second in scoring at 18.5 points per game.
It is the seventh weekly honor for a Seawolf this season. Luke Cooper (two), Chris Bryant (one) and McCade Olsen (one) have also been acknowledged.
The ninth-ranked Seawolves (22-4, 13-1 GNAC) are on the road for the final time this season when they travel to Northwest Nazarene on Thursday and Seattle Pacific on Saturday for key GNAC games. UAA is ranked No. 1 in the West Region, while SPU is third and NNU is 10th.
