The Peninsula Oilers beat the Fairbanks Goldpanners 1-0 on Friday by doing things the old fashioned way -- working for it.

With the game scoreless going into the bottom of the ninth inning, and no extra-base hits, the Oilers had to manufacture a run to win it. David Uribes singled to start the Oilers' rally, and he moved to second base on a sacrifice bunt by Ben Fritz.

And after a groundout by Josh Lex, Andy Dahl hit a two-out single -- his only hit of the game -- to drive in Uribes and give the Oilers their first ABL victory of the season.

Jake Postlewaite, earning his first win of the season, pitched a complete game shutout, giving up eight hits and striking out nine Goldpanners.
