Former Alaska Class 4A high school basketball player of the year Talisa Rhea of Juneau finished her freshman year at Oregon State starting 12 of 30 games and averaging 10.3 points a game, third highest on the squad.

In about 23 minutes a game, Rhea shot 37.2 percent from the field and 78 percent on her free throws. She canned eight 3-pointers in a victory over Washington State.
The Beavers compiled a 12-14 record, but 4-14 in Pac-10 Conference play. Oregon State did beat Arizona in an end-of-season Pac-10 Tournament game.
