Wasilla girls soccer squad drops two on the road

The Soldotna girls soccer team scored three first-half goals, and Wasilla missed two penalty kicks in the second half during a Northern Lights Conference loss Saturday at Soldotna.

Rachel Kennedy scored on a pass from Kendra Miner in the 65th minute for Wasilla (3-3-0).

On Friday, Kenai's late goal gave it a 1-0 victory over visiting Wasilla.

Colony 5, Homer 2

Jessica Farrell and Jamie Krediet each scored two goals Saturday in Colony's Northern Lights Conference win at Homer.

Ally Wood also scored for Colony, which improved to 6-2-1.

On Friday, Krediet scored three goals, Farrell had one goal and one assist, and Kara Larson also scored as the Knights downed Skyview 5-1. Katelyn Payne was in goal for both victories.

Houston drops two

Houston lost twice this weekend, falling 7-0 to Ketchikan on Saturday and 4-0 to Grace Christian on Friday.

Palmer 1, Skyview 1

Palmer and Skyview tied in a Northern Lights Conference match Saturday.

Palmer downed Homer 2-0 on Friday and beat Nikiski 8-0 on Thursday. Tess Anderson scored four goals in the Nikiski win.

Palmer 2, Skyview 1

Palmer edged its Northern Lights Conference rival on Saturday.

Palmer fell to Homer 2-1 on Friday and defeated Nikiski 3-1 on Thursday.

Soldotna 3, Wasilla 1

Wasilla dropped a tough Northern Lights Conference match to Soldotna on Saturday.

On Friday, Harvey Finch, Michael Lewis, Jimmy Sliwa and Chad Cowen scored as the Warriors blanked Kenai 4-0. Keeper Eli Tingstad got the shutout.

Colony 5, Homer 0

Logan Smith racked up four assists Saturday as Colony blanked host Homer.

On Friday, James Meaney had a hat trick as Colony routed host Skyview 7-1.
