BOYS
Service 1, Dimond 1
The Southside rivals settled for a tie at Dimond thanks to stellar defensive play and strong showings in net by the Lynx's Jase Hall and the Cougars' Mykal Thomas.
Dimond got on the board first when Service misplayed a Lynx shot that left Patrick Wolverton alone in the box with the ball. He put it past Thomas with two minutes to go in the first half.
Service tied it up with 15 minutes left in the second when Steven Cortez headed in a direct kick from teammate Kelly Bray.
South 8, Chugiak 0
Jon Hall led the way in the rout with three goals. Spencer Augustin had a goal and an assist for the Wolverines.
Brian Restrepo, Josh Carter, Jeff Dee and Mike Naylor all scored for South.
West 3, East 1
The Eagles completed a season sweep of the Thunderbirds with strong play from goalie Daniel Senner and two scores from Connor Taylor at Dimond.
After a scoreless first half, Taylor drew a penalty and scored on the subsequent penalty kick. He tallied his second goal five minutes later when he beat two East defenders on right side and put the ball in the opposite corner of the goal.
Evan Freid headed in a goal on a cross from Will Estes to round out the scoring for West, which improved to 3-4-4 in the Cook Inlet Conference.
Bartlett 2, Eagle River 1
The Golden Bears struck 30 seconds into the game when Joe Wood scored his fifth goal of the season.
Wood fired a shot that went in off the Wolves' goalie's hands and into the net.
Bartlett went up 2-0 on senior Sal Hernandez's corner kick that was headed in by 6-foot-4 Luke Petrusa early in the second half.
Eagle River scored a late goal to avoid the shutout.
The win improved the Golden Bears to 3-5-4 in the Cook Inlet Conference.
Knights win two
James Meaney scored four goals in a pair of matches, and Logan Smith had eight assists as Colony won twice on the Kenai Peninsula.
On Friday Meaney had a hat trick in a 7-1 win at Skyview. Marc Bourassa had two goals.
The next day, Smith notched four assists for the second straight match as the Knights defeated Homer 5-0.
GIRLS
South 5, Chugiak 0
Amanda Hall had a hat trick while Carly Butcher and Whitney Velez added one goal apiece as South hammered the defending state champs in a rematch of last year's title match.
Keepers Lara Campbell and Bree Webb combined on the shutout.
Colony sweeps
Colony defeated Skyview 5-1 on Friday in Soldotna and won 5-2 at Homer on Saturday.
Jamie Krediet scored three goals in Friday's win and two more Saturday.
Jessica Farrell bagged two goals Saturday to go along with one on Friday.
Service 2, Dimond 1
Vonnie DesJarlais and Anna Cartwright hooked each other up for scores at Anchorage Football Stadium as the Cougars moved to 7-4 in the Cook Inlet Conference and 9-4 overall.
DesJarlais got Service on the board first off an assist from Cartwright and later returned the favor for the deciding goal. Cougar keeper Jamie Gorman made seven saves.
