Seventeen communities across Alaska will simultaneously participate in the 2008 Alaska Law Enforcement Torch Run and Pledge Drive on Saturday.

The 5-kilometer family fun runs will start at 10 a.m. in Anchorage, Barrow, Delta Junction, Dillingham, Fairbanks, Homer, Juneau, Kenai, Ketchikan, Klawock, Kodiak, Palmer/Wasilla, Nome, Petersburg, Seward, Sitka and Valdez.
The event's goal is to raise $100,000 for Special Olympics Alaska. For further information, visit www.specialolympicsalaska.org.
