Anchorage's American Legion Baseball teams better beware of Napoleon (Ohio) and its pitching staff in this weekend's BP Exploration Tournament.
A pair of Napolean pitchers tossed complete-game shutouts Tuesday in the Bill Miller Tournament in Kenai.
Zach Betjer pitched a one-hitter and struck out eight in the River Bandits' 2-0 win over Kenai, and John Kesler threw a three-hitter and walked none in Napoleon's 4-0 victory over Fairfield (Calif.).
Service cruised to a 10-5 victory over Fairfield on Tuesday in five innings.
Napoleon and Fairfield are two of three Outside teams scheduled to play in the BP Exploration Tournament, which runs Thursday through Sunday at Mulcahy Stadium.
The Bill Miller Tournament continues today as Napoleon (2-0) faces Service (1-1) at 9 a.m., and Fairfield (1-1) meets Kenai (0-2) at noon.
