One day after winning big, Team Alaska took it on the chin in the elite championship bracket Tuesday at the Mid Summer Nights Basketball tournament in San Diego.
The Alaskans lost twice, falling 41-29 to the Clutch Players Black from Oregon and 47-16 to the Rocky Mountain Rage from Colorado.
Alex Coon led the way in both games, collecting 10 points and seven rebounds in the first game and seven points in the second game.
It was a much different result Monday when Team Alaska won 44-15 over the NorCal Elite from Sacramento, Calif. High scorers were Allie Grazulis with 12 points and Kara Larson with 10 points. Coon added nine points and seven rebounds.
The Alaska Youth Basketball Association Alaska Lady Hoops Elite Basketball Team is playing in the same tournament in San Diego.
The AYBA team is currently 10-3 on its road trip after finishing in the top six of the Nike Grand Oasis tournament in the 24-team platinum division and third at the Las Vegas AAU Western National Championships.
