Bo Cheesman, whose 30 goals last season marked a career high and ranked second on the Alaska Aces, will return for a second season with the ECHL club.
The Aces on Tuesday announced the signing of Cheesman, 27. Cheesman last season racked up 30 goals, 27 assists and 57 points – all career highs – and was the only Ace to play all 72 regular-season hockey games.
Cheesman, a right winger, shined through the first two-thirds of the regular season with 25-23—48 totals in the first 48 games. His numbers dropped to 5-4—9 in the last 24 games, when he frequently sought treatment for his back.
The Aces have signed seven skaters for the 2008-09 season. Previously signed were defensemen Derick Martin, Bryan Miller and Lee Green, and fowards Scott Burt, Brett Hemingway and Colin Hemingway.
