Mike Butterworth tallied two goals for the Service boys Tuesday, leading the Cougars to a 3-1 Region IV win over Bartlett at Anchorage Football Stadium.
His first score came off a direct kick, less than two minutes after Danny Wilkins gave the Cougars a 1-0 lead in the opening moments of the second half. Butterworth added his second in the 68th minute.
Service (4-0-1 region, 4-1-1 overall) moved past Dimond for first place in the conference standings.
Bartlett (0-5-0, 0-5-0) scored its first goal of the season when Matthias Berringer found the back of the net in the 70th minute.
Palmer sweeps Grace
The Palmer boys and girls soccer teams proved to be too strong for Region III foe Grace Christian and swept the Grizzlies at AFS on Tuesday.
Felicia Sandvik scored a hat trick to lead the Palmer girls to a 6-0 win over Grace. Rachel Kloster added two goals and Leslie Berberich chipped in with one for the Moose.
And Paxton Price's score in the match's opening seconds was all the Palmer boys needed for their 1-0 win over Grace.

Idaho takes series opener
Idaho forward Zenon Konopka, the bane of the Alaska Aces' existence last week, was one of a trio Steelheads to score a goal and an assist Tuesday in Idaho's 5-3 win over the Gwinnett (Ga.) Gladiators in the opening game of the ECHL's Western Conference Finals .
With the win, Idaho jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Game 2 is tonight in Duluth, Ga.
Konopka scored the decisive goal in Idaho's series-clinching win over Alaska in the Pacific Division Finals last week. He was joined in the two-point department Tuesday by Brett Draney and David Bararuk. Rookie goaltender Dan Ellis made 35 saves for the Steelheads, who have won four straight and seven of eight.
Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals, between the Reading (Pa.) Royals and Florida Everblades is tonight.
WRESTLING
Grapplers converge on Eagle River
More than 500 wrestlers from all around the state are expected to compete at this weekend's Alaska USA Freetsyle and Greco-Roman State Tournament.
The two-day event begins at the McDonald Center in Eagle River on Friday morning at 9:30. The freestyle portion of the tournament is Saturday.

DISC GOLF
Huge tournament this weekend
The Alaska Disc Golf Association will offer a 36-hole tournament and an introduction to the sport Saturday at Kincaid Park as part of the World's Biggest Disc Golf Tournament, a nationwide event.
The tournament costs $5 and begins at 10 a.m. Non-tournament players can come out and learn about the game.
