Less than one second out of the overall lead after three races, Carey Grumelot powered through the final stage of the state mountain bike championships to overtake Evan Hyde and capture the men's title.
Grumelot won Sunday's 25.5-mile road race through Kincaid Park in 1 hour, 57 minutes, 15 seconds -- more than five minutes ahead of Hyde (2:02:24.3).
Margaret Cunningham, one of just two women racing, won the 17-mile women's road race in 2:02:47 to claim the overall title ahead of Rose Theisen.
