Dunbar won the 5-K boys race in 15 minutes, 20 seconds to break the course record (15:24) set in 1993 by former two-time state champion and West High runner Miguel Gomez.

The record-breaking victory was Dunbar's fourth win of the season. The senior has not been beaten in the Last Frontier since his freshman year.

Marcelyn Luch won the girls title, finishing the 5-K course in 20:02, and sister Delia Luch took second in 20:15.

The Kodiak boys beat West by 17 points, while West's girls beat Kodiak by 14 points.
