They couldn't compete for team titles because their schools didn't have enough competitors to qualify, but Cook Inlet Academy's Josh Holly and Kenny Lake's Kailey Wilson still earned individual glory Saturday.

Holly won the Region II cross-country running title at Su Valley High, clocking 16 minutes, 37 seconds over five kilometers (3.1 miles). But because Cook Inlet didn't field a full team, Holly's win meant nothing in the team standings.

Paced by three runners in the top 10, Tri Valley claimed the boys title.

Kenny Lake's Wilson is the only person on her team. She still cruised to win the girls race in 19:17.3.

Sadie Arneson paced the Cook Inlet girls team win with a third-place finish.
