Rookie winger Erik Felde of Anchorage scored the first two goals of his pro hockey career Sunday to help the Alaska Aces finish a three-game demolition of the Utah Grizzlies with an 8-4 win that extended Alaska's unbeaten streak to eight games.
The ECHL-leading Aces (10-2-1) matched the best 13-game start in franchise history -- the 96-97 club, known as the Anchorage Aces and playing in the now-defunct West Coast Hockey League established that mark.
Luke Erickson added one goal and two assists, and Cam Keith, Vladimir Novak and Jordan Foreman each contributed one goal and one assist for the Aces, who are 7-0-1 in their last eight games. Defenseman Corbin Schmidt bagged three assists before an announced crowd of 4,144 at Sullivan Arena, Tomas Kana furnished one goal and two assists, and 14 of Alaska's 16 skaters registered at least one point.
The Aces swept the three-game series -- they won 4-1 Saturday and 5-1 Sunday.
Alaska goaltender Jean-Philippe Lamoureux allowed more than one goal for the first time in seven games. He made 29 saves. The Aces peppered Grizzlies goalie Michael Mole with a season-high 41 shots.
Dennis Packard scored two goals for Utah (6-6-0).
The Aces open a three-game series in Victoria, British Columbia on Wednesday and play their next six matches on the road.
