Marqus Echols scored 28 points Friday to lead the Alaska Dream to a 135-113 victory over the San Francisco Rumble in its franchise debut at the Carlson Center in Fairbanks.
Andrew Smith added 22 points toward the first-round victory in the "Dare to Dream" exhibition tournament.
The Dream, who play in the American Basketball Association, continue tournament action today against the Las Vegas Aces at 6 p.m.
