Volleyball takes Hooe to Europe, again

For the second straight year, UAA volleyball player Morgan Hooe is spending part of her summer playing competitively in Europe.

Hooe, an all-conference setter for the Seawolves, traveled to Croatia for the European Global Challenge, where she played for one of three U.S. teams in the exhibition tournament.

En route to Pula, Croatia, Hooe and her teammates also played games in Hungary and Slovenia.

Hooe saw action against the national teams from Russia, Italy, Hungary and Slovenia and also faced an England team featuring three Olympians, a tough China team and a U.S. team made up of Division I players.

"The volleyball is tough, the girls I play with and against are amazing, and obviously the sight-seeing is incredible," Hooe said in a press release from UAA. "I'm anxious to see how this trip helps my game improve going into my senior season. I've learned so much from the European style of play and I'm excited to incorporate it into Seawolf volleyball."

Last year, the entire UAA team made a 10-day tour of Europe to play games in the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Italy and Austria.
