Seawolves hit free throws, take care of ball in win over Billings

Free throws and turnovers made the difference for the UAA men's basketball team Thursday in a 74-62 victory over Montana State-Billings.

The Seawolves outscored Billings 26-8 at the foul line and used another double-double by Jacob Lampkin to improve to 6-4 overall and 2-0 in the Great Northwest Athletic Conference.

The Yellowjackets were whistled for 23 fouls to UAA's 14, and four of the eight players who saw action at the Alaska Airlines Center finished the game with four fouls.

Josiah Wood and Maleke Haynes each sank five of six throws and Drew Peterson hit all four of his for the Seawolves.

UAA took good care of the ball, committing seven turnovers while forcing Billings into 17.

Lampkin registered his seventh double-double of the season with 16 points and 12 rebounds. D.J. Ursery joined him in double figures with 14 points.
