Stevens, the longest serving Republican senator ever, and five other people died and four survived. in a small plane crash on Monday August, 9 2010 in a remote part of Alaska.  Former NASA administrator and U.S. Navy secretary Sean O'Keefe, and his son, were among the survivors.

A public viewing is held at All Saints Episcopal Church in downtown Anchorage on Tuesday August 17, 2010. People filed through the church to pay respects to the late Alaska Senator Ted Stevens.

Senator Ted Stevens' casket was in All Saints Episcopal Church Tuesday for a public viewing. Late in the day a procession took the casket to the Anchorage Baptist Temple.
