In March 2013, while Tina Ervin was away for the night, her five-year-old son Austin was involved in a car accident with family friends in Wasilla, Alaska. The accident left Austin, now 8, unable to move his body from the neck down and requiring a ventilator to breathe. With full-time help, Tina cares for her son. Tina describes the experience and her motivation in helping him live the fullest life he can.
