Video: Drug-sniffing troopers dog retires

Kilo, a long-haired German shepherd, retired after 10 years of service with the Alaska State Troopers. He participated in over 400 drug searches, which resulted in the seizure of $1.8 million in cash and property involved in the illicit drug industry.

During his ten years of service, Kilo worked across Alaska with three handlers, including his current handler, investigator Vance Peronto. Kilo will retire at home with Peronto.

The troopers are planning a small retirement party for Kilo, complete with his favorite treat: ice cream.
