Video: Quyana, the Alaska Federation of Native's night of traditional dance

For over 20 years the Alaska Federation of Natives has celebrated the many distinct Native cultures from across the state during Quyana, a night of traditional dance.

Groups from Barrow to St. Lawrence Island gathered for two nights, and each night seven groups displayed their cultural traditions, values and passions through dance. Some performances are about healing; others are ways to engage youth in the cultures.

The sentiment expressed in the 2014 convention theme, Rise As One, was felt throughout the packed house at Anchorage's Dena'ina Civic and Convention Center.
