Whaley Schmoyer and Alan Braham

Whaley Ann Schmoyer of Anchorage and Alan Mark Braham of Eagle River will marry June 21 in Anchorage.

Whaley is the daughter of Cindy and Al Schmoyer. Born and raised in Anchorage, she graduated from Service High School in 2000. Whaley owns an art company, WHL Designs. She is also a business analyst for the state of Alaska. Whaley enjoys painting, hiking, camping, dirt biking, and living in Alaska.

Alan is the son of Merry and Mitch Braham. Born and raised in Eagle River, he graduated from Chugiak High School in 1997. Alan is employed by Allied Building Products and enjoys outdoor motor sports.

Both ride for a professional motorcycle stunt team.

The couple met at the House of Harley when Whaley worked there as marketing director. Alan proposed on the two-year anniversary of their first date above Potter Marsh.

Amy Fischer and Corey Hunt

Amy Fischer and Corey Hunt, both of Seattle, will marry March 15 at the historic Stimson-Green Mansion in Seattle.

Amy is the daughter of John Fischer (and the late Teresa Hedges) and Teresa Fischer. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1994. Amy attends North Seattle Community College, where she is pursuing a degree in English. She works in the executive office for the City of Mill Creek. Amy has four children, Autumn, Jerry, Oliver and Lucas. She enjoys art and her children.

Corey is the son of Ann and Charlie Laurence of Anchorage. He graduated from Service High School in 1987. Corey received senatorial nominations to West Point and the U.S. Air Force Academy. He graduated from Sheldon Junior College with an associate's degree in math. Corey is a senior at the University of Washington in Seattle and is completing degrees in math, physics and engineering. He works in construction and enjoys information technology programming, reading, and skiing.

The couple met through mutual friends in Seattle. Corey brought Amy to Alaska in June. He drove her to Alyeska Resort and proposed to her at the top of Mount Alyeska.

Lisa Nelson-Sherwood and Andrew Sherwood

Lisa Marie Nelson and Andrew Paul Sherwood were married Nov. 16 on the sand in Cozumel, Mexico. The bride was barefoot in a Vera Wang gown, and the bridegroom wore a tailored navy blue suit with shoes. Guests traveled from Alaska, Oregon, California, Washington, Texas, Las Vegas, Colorado, New York and Taiwan. Afterward, the couple spent a week in Belize, where they zip-lined, explored Mayan ruins, went cave tubing and snorkeled.

Lisa and Andrew were friends at East High School and grew closer during their college years in Oregon. Lisa attended the University of Oregon, and Andrew attended the University of Portland. Nearly every weekend, they would trade off on who would drive the 100 miles so that they could dine on Chinese or pizza and see a movie.

By the time they graduated in 2003, they had planned to move to New York City. That fall, they shared a tiny basement studio apartment in Brooklyn. Andrew attended New York Law School, and Lisa landed her first job in advertising as an assistant account executive at McCann-Erickson. The couple fell in love with New York City and moved into a one-bedroom apartment in a fifth floor walk-up. Andrew is an assistant district attorney in the Bronx, and Lisa is a strategic planner at Saatchi and Saatchi in Manhattan.

The couple wrote: "We look forward to years of making more memories."

Erin Royal and Derek Clark

Erin Royal and Derek Clark will marry June 21 in Anchorage.

Both are 2000 graduates of Service High School.

Erin is the daughter of Elaine Royal and Paul Royal, both of Anchorage. She received a bachelor's degree in biology from Texas A&M University in 2004. Erin is in her second year of medical school at the University of Nevada School of Medicine in Reno, Nev. Her interests include hiking and camping with their dog, Healy, and exploring Alaska.

Derek is the son of Deborah Cloutier and John Clark, both of Anchorage. He received a bachelor's degree in industrial distribution from Texas A&M University in 2004. Derek is a program manager for Microsoft in Reno. He enjoys skiing, hiking, camping, fishing and soccer.

Both were born and raised in Anchorage and met during junior high school. They began dating during their senior year of high school. Derek proposed during a summer family barbecue before they drove to Reno for Erin to attend medical school. They plan to return to Anchorage when Erin finishes her medical education.

Cara Fox and Trevor Fairbanks

Cara E. Fox and Trevor P. Fairbanks, both of Anchorage, will marry July 18 at Eklutna Lake.

Cara is the daughter of John and Sheila Fox of Fairbanks and Patricia M. Fox of Fairbanks. She graduated from West Valley High School in 1995 and from the University of Rochester with degrees in economics and psychology. Cara is the human resources director of Hawaiian Vacations.

Trevor is the son of Dennis and Linda Fairbanks of Eagle River. He graduated from Chugiak High School in 1992 and from the University of Alaska Anchorage with a degree in chemistry. Trevor is employed by the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation, Spill Prevention and Response division.

Frances Keough and Christopher Wagoner

Frances Keough and Christopher Wagoner, both of Anchorage, will marry Aug. 16.

Frances is the daughter of Dan Keough and Marlene Jones of Anchorage. She is a lifelong Alaskan and has been actively involved in the horse community. Frances, who has a passion for animals, has been a veterinary technician since 2003. She enjoys fishing, camping, snowmachining, and training and showing her horses.

Chris is the son of Michael Wagoner of Summerville, Ore., and Cindy Porter of Chehalis, Wash. After graduating from Imbler High School in Oregon in 2000, he joined the Army National Guard. Chris was honorably discharged in 2007. He is a parts adviser at Chevrolet of South Anchorage. Chris enjoys snowmachining, shooting, four-wheeling, working on his truck, and other outdoor activities.

The couple met in 2001 through friends in Pendleton, Ore. Chris proposed on Thanksgiving day at Frances' sister's residence in Anchorage with her family present.

Dawn Jones and Paul Larson

Dawn Jones and Paul Larson will marry Aug. 30 on Ember Lake in Clearwater, Minn.

They met through a mutual friend while working at Furniture Enterprises of Alaska in 2005. After two years of dating, Paul proposed during a picnic at the top of Flattop Mountain in June.

Dawn is the daughter of Sheri Jones of Anchorage. She grew up in Anchorage and graduated from Bartlett High School in 2002. Dawn works at Wells Fargo. She enjoys hiking, camping and baking.

Paul is the son of Greg and Julene Larson of Clearwater. After graduating from Monticello High School in Minnesota in 2000, he received a bachelor's degree in biology from the University of Minnesota. Paul moved to Anchorage in 2004 after falling in love with Alaska during his many trips to the state while in school. He enjoys hiking, camping and ice climbing.

The lakeside ceremony will be officiated by Nancy Cohen. The bride will be escorted down the aisle by her brother, Christopher Jones. Jessica Cerutti will be maid of honor, and bridesmaids will be Kayla Hancock, Sarah Larson and Elizabeth Larson. Peter Larson will be best man, and groomsmen will be Nate Russell, Dylan Wojchouski and Keram Christianson. The reception will follow at Monticello Community Center.
