Wasilla-based Predators take to football field in March

Arctic Predators owner Chris Kokalis, coach Hans Deemer and owner Ken Moninski held a press conference at the Menard Sports Center in Wasilla to celebrate the new team's acceptance into the Indoor Football League. Games are scheduled to begin in March.

From coaching pre-teens playing their first game to running professional-level players through drills, coach Hans Deemer lives and breathes football. Now the lifelong football fanatic is leading a professional indoor football team whose home is the Menard Sports Center in Wasilla.

Familiar face will lead new Valley football team

Former Alaska Wild coach Hans Deemer on Monday said he left the Wild so he could focus on a dream -- starting an Indoor Football League franchise closer to his home in the Valley.
