AK Beat: Big Lake pilot killed in Super Cub plane crash

Plane crashes near Tatitna landing strip: A Piper PA-18 Super Cub crashed Friday afternoon near the Tatitna landing strip, 135 miles northwest of Anchorage, according to the Alaska State Troopers. The crash killed 58-year-old pilot Scott Mueller of Big Lake. The Alaska Air National Guard transported the plane's passenger, 30-year-old Traeger Anderson of Wasilla, to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries. An investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board is underway into the crash.
