A body discovered Wednesday near a heavily-traveled stretch of road in Midtown Anchorage has been identified as Michelle Felber, a 24-year-old Anchorage resident who had been missing for at least two months.

The body was discovered by a man walking near Dowling Road after he had dropped off his car at an area repair shop, according to KTUU. The body was in a wooded area about 50 feet from the road. It wasn't clear how long the the body had been there.

Police say that Felber's family had reported her missing on Oct. 8, although they hadn't seen her in the two months prior to making the report. The state Medical Examiner has not yet released the cause of death, and police said that their investigation was continuing.

Later Thursday, police said that the body of another woman was discovered in Mountain View by two men walking in the area. The body was located on the north side of Park Lanes Storage, a building that used to be a bowling alley and is visible from the busy Glenn Highway.

Though that victim was quickly identified as female, police said that they were not yet able to determine her race, age, or identity, and that the death was being investigated.
