Minor earthquake near Wasilla strikes just before noon

A small earthquake centered 8 miles west of Wasilla hit at 11:42 a.m. Thursday, according to the Alaska Earthquake Information Center.

The minor quake had a magnitude of 3.9 and was 26 miles north of Anchorage.

The quake was the second minor shake in two days. A 3.8-magnitude quake hit the Cook Inlet region on Tuesday.
