The Associated Press reports that the rapper has been outfitted with bear spray and bear bells. On Twitter, the Walmart Newsroom tweeted a photo of him receiving his "survival kit," complete with rain boots. He later tweeted a photo of himself on stage, holding a baby, while Native dancers performed around him. He wrote "Thank U Kodiak ... I am honored, truly."

About 250 people attended his appearance at the Coast Guard base in Kodiak. Kodiak Mayor Pat Branson gave Pitbull a key to the city, while donning sunglasses that mimicked the rapper's style.
