2016 schedule for Arctic Thunder featuring the Blue Angels

Saturday and Sunday, July 30-31:

9 a.m. — Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson opens its gates to the public. Enter at either the Boniface Parkway or Fort Richardson gates only. Motor homes and RVs are prohibited. Parking is free.

10 a.m. — Opening ceremonies include the Alaska National Guard flyover, dViper airshows, CF-18, Acemaker and Warbird flyby.

12 p.m. — Afternoon events include a presentation on the Military Warrior Support Foundation, unmanned aerial systems demonstration, Army Band performance, aerobatic pilot Anna Serbinenko, Team Rocket, Joint Force demonstration, C-17 demonstration, aerobatic pilot Jacquie Warda, F-22 demonstration, Heritage Flight, Alaskan aerobatic pilot Marcus Paine and the Alaska short takeoff and landing demonstration.

4 p.m. — For the grand finale, the U.S. Navy Blue Angels will perform.

5 p.m. — Arctic Thunder ends.

Items not allowed on base at JBER: Coolers, alcohol, large bags including purses and backpacks (diaper bags for small children are OK), weapons including firearms, gang- or motorcycle-club affiliated clothing, anything on wheels except for strollers and wheelchairs. Service animals are allowed, but pets are not permitted on the grounds or to be left unattended.
