Here are the big Fourth of July celebrations this weekend in Southcentral Alaska

Anchorage

July Fourth parade and festival — The celebration will kick off Sunday with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. on Ninth Avenue between H and G streets ($8 for adults, $5 for kids, military and seniors). The Independence Day parade will begin at 11 a.m. and follow a route along the Delaney Park Strip, starting at Ninth Avenue and G Street. Then there will be food vendors, children’s rides and games, a beer and wine garden, music and other entertainment from 12-9 p.m. Sunday.

American Legion Jack Henry Post 1 barbecue — There will be food, games and live music by Danger Money at this Fourth of July party. Bring your favorite side dish or dessert and show off your culinary skills. Free. Starts at 2 p.m. Sunday. (907-272-5242; 840 W. Fireweed Lane)

July Fourth doubleheader and fireworks display — Watch the Glacier Pilots and Bucs play a special doubleheader Sunday. Fourth of July fireworks will be set off following the second game or midnight, whichever comes first. Games scheduled to start 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. Sunday, Mulcahy Stadium. Eagle River

Third of July and fireworks — Get a head start on Independence Day at this Saturday event featuring vendors, music, beer garden, skydivers and a bouncy house and games for kids. Free. 6 p.m.-12 a.m. Fireworks start at midnight. Saturday at the Eagle River Alaska Lions Club. (18344 Eagle River Road)

Wasilla

Parade and mayor’s picnic — A Fourth of July parade will begin at 11 a.m. Sunday. Then there will be free hotdogs, chips and drinks on the Iditapark lawn from 1-3 p.m., as well as a hot-dog eating contest and kids games. From 5-9 p.m. Sunday there will be live music from the Carhartt Brothers, a beer garden and vendors.

Sutton

Glacier View Fourth of July Car Launch — Vehicles and other means of transportation will be launched into the sky at this unique annual event Sunday. There will be no spectator ATVs or motorized vehicles allowed past the pavilion, so bring a wagon and a chair. Food available for purchase on site. $10 for children and $20 for ages 13 and up. Gates open at 10 a.m., cars fly around 2 p.m. Sunday at Glacier View River Retreat. (35068 W. Glenn Highway, Glacier View)

Homer

Fourth of July Parade in Homer — Community members dressed in red, white and blue will roll down Pioneer Avenue in celebration of Independence Day. Free. 6 p.m. Sunday at Pioneer and Lake.

Seward

Note: Mount Marathon men’s and women’s races have been moved to Wednesday, July 7, this year. For full details, see seward.com.

Saturday — At 10 p.m. there will be a boat parade viewable from the Seward Harbor and waterfront. Fireworks will start at midnight from Waterfront Park. Festival booths will be open 9 a.m.-8 p.m. (Adams and Washington streets)

Sunday — At 11 a.m. there will be a “mini Mount Marathon race” for 2- to 6-year-olds (Fourth Avenue and Adams Street). A Fourth of July Parade will start at 1 p.m. downtown. Festival booths will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. (Adams and Washington streets)
