The Alaska Chinese Association hosted a Chinese New Year celebration at Mears Middle School in Anchorage on Sunday. The Lunar New Year begins on Wednesday, Jan. 29, marking the start of the Year of the Snake.

“We are trying to expand the impact of our Alaska Chinese Association to local residents and businesses and promote more cultural activities, events, and workshops to let more people know about Chinese culture from thousands of years,” said ACA president Danni Li.
