A vehicle crash early Friday morning near Hoonah killed a Florida man and left a Juneau resident injured, according to Alaska State Troopers.

Troopers said that 23-year-old Jeffery Turner of Tampa Bay, Florida, was killed in the crash. Dylan Wiard, 24, was hurt.

Troopers said Hoonah Police Department officers received an initial report of the crash, on Long Island Road in Hoonah, shortly before 5:30 a.m. Friday. When they responded, they found the vehicle overturned.

Further details on the wreck weren't included in the dispatches.

Wiard was taken to Juneau for medical care. Turner's next of kin have been notified, and his body was sent to the State Medical Examiner Office for an autopsy.
