Four found dead in Fairbanks hotel room

Three adults and a child were found dead in a Fairbanks hotel Friday afternoon and police said they appear to have been shot to death.

In a written statement from Fairbanks police, officers responded to a call of a suspicious circumstance from staff at the Hampton Inn and Suites in Fairbanks at 1:25 p.m. Friday.

Officers arrived and found a man sitting in the hallway of the second floor, crying, police said. The man directed officers to a nearby room where they found four bodies, police said.

"All deaths appear to have been caused by gunshots," police wrote.

Police did not release names, ages and genders of the victims, citing the ongoing investigation.

"There is no threat to the public" at this time, they added.
