2 dead in Bethel house fire

Two Bethel residents were killed in a house fire early Saturday morning, according to the Bethel Police Department.

Around 1:10 a.m. Saturday morning, Bethel police and fire department personnel responded to a house fire. Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze, BPD wrote in a release.

The bodies of Charity Alexie, 41, and Hans Alexie, 37, were found inside the home, police said. The remains are being sent to the State Medical Examiner's Office in Anchorage to determine the cause of death, the release says.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Foul play is not suspected, police write.
