A magnitude-5.5 earthquake rattled Southcentral Alaska on Wednesday evening.
The earthquake struck at 5:11 p.m. beneath the waters of Cook Inlet, west of the Kenai Peninsula, according to the U.S. Geological Survey's National Earthquake Information Center.
The quake was 38 miles west of Homer, and occurred at a depth of 47.8 miles.
The earthquake didn't generate a tsunami warning.
