Traffic changes for Iditarod restart will affect Fairbanks airport travelers

Travelers headed to the Fairbanks International Airport for much of Monday should give themselves extra time to reach the terminal because of road closures to accommodate the restart of the Iditarod, Alaska State Troopers said in an advisory.

A section of Airport Way west will be closed from 7 a.m. to approximately 3 p.m., the notice said.

According to Explore Fairbanks, Airport Way will be closed to public traffic westbound past the Mitchell Expressway ramps to Dale Road. Buses, taxis and borough Van Tran will still have access to Airport Way westbound.
