Anchorage police look for suspect in shooting

A man was shot during an altercation in Anchorage's Mountain View early Monday morning, police said.

Four people — three men and a woman — were in the area of North Hoyt Street and Peterkin Avenue at 12:17 a.m. on Monday when a disagreement between two of the men became violent, Anchorage police said in a statement Monday.

One man shot another man in the group "in the lower body" with a handgun and ran away with the third man, according to police. The suspected shooter took the victim's phone with him.

The victim was taken to a hospital. His injuries are not life-threatening, police said. Police tried unsuccessfully to track the suspect with a dog. The suspect  was at large as of 10 a.m. on Monday.
