A Palmer woman driving an SUV and a Fairbanks couple on a motorcycle died Monday afternoon in a multivehicle collision on the Parks Highway, and the woman's daughter died later at an Anchorage hospital, according to Alaska State Troopers.
A Fairbanks man on a second motorcycle was last reported in critical condition.
Cary Taylor-Bloomquist, 40, was southbound in her 2018 Subaru Outback at about Mile 156 of the Parks Highway in Denali State Park with her 5-year-old daughter, Adeline "Addy" Bloomquist, in a car seat in back. The Subaru crossed the center line and struck two northbound motorcycles, troopers said in an overnight update.
Motorcyclists Jeffrey Esley, 63, and his wife Charlene Esley, 60, were on one motorcycle and died in the collision. David Fulton, 62, also from Fairbanks, was on the second motorcycle and was airlifted to an Anchorage hospital in critical condition, troopers said.
Following the motorcycles was a GMC pickup driven by Fulton's wife, Heidi Fulton, 50, and carrying two of her children. Taylor-Bloomquist's Subaru, still in the northbound lane, collided with Fulton's pickup. That collision killed Taylor-Bloomquist and critically injured her daughter, who was pronounced dead at Providence Alaska Medical Center.
Heidi Fulton was "not seriously injured," troopers said, but her children, ages 10 and 3, were transported by ground ambulance to a Wasilla hospital with what were believed to be non-life-threatening injuries.
Troopers said an investigation was continuing.
