Teen sexually assaulted and choked girl at Mat-Su high school, troopers say

PALMER -- A 17-year-old from Wasilla was arrested Wednesday on charges he sexually assaulted and choked a former girlfriend at a Mat-Su high school in late January, Alaska State Troopers say.

Kaiden Jimenez is accused of assaulting the girl in a classroom at Colony High School, troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters said Friday. The school is located between Palmer and Wasilla.

The victim, a high-school student, reported the incident to a school official who “made all other appropriate notifications,” Peters wrote in an email.

A spokeswoman for the Matanuska-Susitna Borough School District said officials don’t have permission to release any information.

“There is an ongoing Alaska State Trooper investigation and the district is cooperating with law enforcement in that process,” spokeswoman Jillian Morrissey wrote in an email Thursday.

Jimenez was indicted by a Palmer grand jury last week on first-degree attempted sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and third-degree assault, according to a troopers dispatch posted late Wednesday.

Troopers arrested Jimenez after a warrant for his arrest was issued by a Palmer judge, they said. He was jailed at Mat-Su Pretrial Facility on $100,000 cash bail.
