13-year-old Sterling girl dies in ATV crash

A 13-year-old girl died Monday in Sterling on the Kenai Peninsula when she lost control of the ATV she was riding and crashed, Alaska State Troopers said.

Troopers pronounced Tori Verba dead at the scene on Robinson Loop near Higher Ground Street around 5:43 p.m., according to an online dispatch. Verba was wearing a helmet, troopers said.

Troopers were investigating the cause of the crash, according to the dispatch.
