A driver was killed Saturday in a head-on collision at a construction site near Fairbanks, the Alaska State Troopers said.
The crash happened at 2:22 p.m. near Mile 6 of the Elliott Highway in the midst of an active construction zone, troopers said in a statement Sunday.
A 2009 Dodge Ram pickup truck “began fishtailing when climbing uphill and lost control on the freshly snow-covered roadway,” the statement said.
The pickup crossed into oncoming traffic and was hit by a dump truck.
The driver of the pickup, whose name has not been released, was pronounced dead at the scene.
