1 dead, another injured in Thanksgiving fire at Anchor Point home

Alaska state fire marshals are investigating the cause of a Thanksgiving evening residential fire in Anchor Point that killed one person and injured another.

At about 7:10 p.m. Thursday, Alaska State Troopers were notified of a home on fire in Anchor Point, troopers said in an online report. When troopers and Anchor Point Fire Department personnel arrived, the home was “fully engulfed in fire,” troopers said.

One person was found dead inside and another resident was found at a neighbor’s home with injuries sustained in the fire, troopers said. They were flown to Seattle for treatment.
